What do John Ritter and ‘A Christmas Story’ have in common? Quite a lot,
actually. John grew up in the town where the movie was filmed, went to the same school, and even knows ‘Flick,’ the character who stuck
his tongue to the frozen flagpole. Which, John can tell you, really happened.
His connection to that Hollywood classic is not his only
conversation piece, however. In his 20+ years in insurance, John has earned quite a few other notable things to talk about. A native of Hammond,
Indiana, he earned a BS at Rutgers, and MBA from Rider University. Since then, his 20-year career has run the gamut, from underwriting self-funded
large groups with 500+ employees, to sales for two major health insurance carriers. He also holds the Health Insurance Association of America (HIAA)
designation, and is working toward his Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation. Along with such a noteworthy history, John brought
his exuberance and humor to Metzler Bros. in 2004.
Just like the company, John is active in the Kansas City community. He serves on the
Alphapointe and KVC General boards, is an active member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Asian American Chamber of Commerce, and serves as
Vice President of the Human Resources Management Association of Johnson County.
John enjoys being a part of the Metzler culture of
professionalism, fun, and community mindedness. And, as evidenced by his professional history, civic involvement, and favorite quote from Homer
Simpson: “If God didn’t want you to eat bacon, he wouldn’t have made it smell so good.” John fits right in. |
